Silvia Luz Díaz Sámano
Soy Silvia y vivo en la bulliciosa y concurrida Ciudad de México, la metrópoli en que nací y crecí. Estudié la licenciatura en Historia en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la UNAM y actualmente soy guía de turistas federal certificada por la Secretaría de Turismo en México.
Amante y estudiosa de la cultura general, las artes plásticas y las lenguas extranjeras. Me encanta viajar, escribir, leer, conocer nuevas personas continuamente y estar en contacto con las culturas de todo el mundo, pues pienso que se puede aprender algo valioso de ellas, ya que cada una tiene un encanto inigualable y especial.
Estoy completamente enamorada de mi país y su cultura; y cautivada por los rincones históricos de la "Ciudad de los Palacios", sus insólitas leyendas, memorables personajes y extravagantes habitantes. Debido a lo anterior, uno de mis propósitos es la difusión y conservación del patrimonio cultural mexicano, mismo que tiene una historia cuantiosa y milenaria; y como guía de turistas, mi objetivo principal no sólo es difundir el gran valor de nuestro patrimonio cultural, sino también hacer que los demás se enamoren, al igual que yo, de nuestras bellas tradiciones, costumbres, lenguas, gastronomía, así como de su gente.
Siempre he creído que los viajeros que vienen a México deberían conocernos como realmente somos, es decir, que estén en contacto directo con nuestro auténtico estilo de vida y formas de pensar, las cuales son diversas y complejas. Por esta razón, otro de mis propósitos es el de erradicar estereotipos y cambiar perspectivas a través de las visitas guiadas aquí y allá, mostrando no solamente lo ampliamente conocido, sino también aquello que pueda parecer extraño.

I’m Silvia and
I live in the noisy-and-crowded Mexico City, the metropolis in which I was born
and raised. I studied History at UNAM and nowadays I’m a federal tourist guide
certificated by the Secretariat of Tourism in Mexico.
I
love travelling, listening to music, reading, meeting new people on a regular
basis and being in touch with the different cultures from all over the world,
for I think that it’s possible to learn something valuable from them, as each
one has an incomparable and special charm.
I’m
entirely in love with the country and the culture I belong to, which have a
well-off and millenium-old history. As a tour guide, my main goal is not only
to spread the great value of our cultural heritage, but to make others, just
like me, fall in love with our prominent traditions, customs, languages,
gastronomy and people as well.
I’ve
always believed that the travellers that visit Mexico should get to know what
we really are, that is, to be in touch directly with our genuine lifestyle and
ways of thinking, which are diverse and complex. For this reason, another of my
goals is to eradicate stereotypes and to change perspectives through guided
visits here and there, showing to everyone not only the well-known and common
stuff, but those things that could be odd as well.
I
